Alpaca Business

Raising alpacas is often referred to as "the world's greatest livestock investment" for it's impressive financial yields on such a pleasurable lifestyle, while sheltering your income.

Sue calls Alpacas the "stablestock" after her 401k dropped with the rest of the Wall Street market. Alpacas are fully insurable, and the demand for alpacas and their fleece is increasing every year.

Alpacas are easy to maintain. They eat grass with small amounts of supplements and hay. With their soft feet they are pasture friendly and will not challenge a fence. Manure cleanup is easy since alpacas deposit in only one or two places in the pasture and paddock. Your gardening neighbors will haul the "jellybeans" away for you. Alpacas are very gentle. With loving personalities and a relatively small stature (120-180 lbs), they will not overpower a caretaker. Children find them huggable, and they are great 4H projects.

This makes raising Alpacas very attractive to the modern woman who enjoys a "hands on" approach.

Ask your accountant or tax consultant about the fantastic investment credits and tax benefits available to the Alpaca Farmer. Ask about Section 179 that allows you to write off over $250,000 on your initial investment. Ask how you can deduct an additional 50% for the first year and amortize the rest over 5 years. Ask how you may qualify for lower property tax with a lower farm assessment. Ask how you benefit from deferred wealth building. A small farmer can purchase several alpacas then allow the herd to grow over time without paying taxes on it's increased size and value. The capital gains treatment of sale proceeds are an attractive benefit of raising alpaca breeding stock. Let Uncle Sam pay for your alpacas as you shelter your ordinary income and protect your long range wealth.
What does this mean in dollars and cents? Very simply put: buy a pregnant female for $15-$20k dollars, you allow the government to pay for a portion of the cost by taking advantage of tax credits, in a few months you have a baby which could also be worth $15-$20,000 (PLUS).  You do the math! You do the projections! Build a nice college fund or supplement your retirement.

Alpaca farming is not for everyone. It is not a "get rich scheme". To be successful it takes a business plan, financial investment, and animal husbandry skills. If you long for a less stressful life and desire to benefit directly from your labor, check out Alpaca farming. Raising alpacas could be just what you've been looking for.
