| Raising alpacas is often referred to as
"the world's greatest livestock investment" for it's impressive
financial yields on such a pleasurable lifestyle, while sheltering
your income. Sue calls Alpacas
the "stablestock" after her 401k dropped with the rest of the Wall
Street market. Alpacas are fully insurable, and the demand for alpacas
and their fleece is increasing every year.
Alpacas are easy to maintain. They eat grass with small amounts of
supplements and hay. With their soft feet they are pasture friendly
and will not challenge a fence. Manure cleanup is easy since alpacas
deposit in only one or two places in the pasture and paddock. Your
gardening neighbors will haul the "jellybeans" away for you. Alpacas
are very gentle. With loving personalities and a
relatively small stature (120-180 lbs), they will not overpower a
caretaker. Children find them huggable, and they are great 4H
projects.
This makes raising Alpacas very attractive to the modern woman who
enjoys a "hands on" approach. |
